China Visa Application Form Guide

The China visa application form (Form V.2013) must be completed accurately and completely. Follow this step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Download the Form

  • Download from the official website of your local Chinese embassy/consulate or CVASC
  • Fill out electronically (COVA - China Online Visa Application) or print and complete by hand in block letters
  • Use black ink only if filling by hand

Step 2: Personal Information (Section 1)

  • Full name as it appears on your passport
  • Date of birth, place of birth, gender, marital status
  • Current nationality and nationality at birth (if different)
  • Passport number, date of issue, date of expiry, place of issue

Step 3: Contact Information (Section 2)

  • Current residential address and phone number
  • Email address (important — key communication channel)
  • Emergency contact information

Step 4: Travel Information (Section 3)

  • Purpose of visit: Select the correct visa type (L/M/F/X/Z etc.)
  • Intended number of entries: Single, double, or multiple
  • Duration of stay: Maximum days requested
  • Itinerary: Cities to visit and accommodation details (at minimum, first hotel booking)

Step 5: Employment & Education (Section 4)

  • Current occupation and employer details
  • Education history
  • Previous travel to China (if any)

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  1. Incomplete form: Every field must be filled; use "N/A" for non-applicable fields
  2. Mismatched information: Information must match your passport exactly
  3. Illegible handwriting: Use block letters if filling by hand
  4. Incorrect visa type: Select the type matching your primary activity
  5. Unsigned form: Don't forget to sign and date

Documents to Submit with the Form

  • Original passport (valid for 6+ months with 2+ blank visa pages)
  • One passport-style photo (33mm×48mm)
  • Photocopy of passport data page
  • Supporting documents (depending on visa type)
  • Proof of legal status (if applying from a third country)

Submit your application at least 1-2 months before your planned travel date for standard processing.
